St. Paul's has been award $12,745 to equip and staff an after school program in our common room. The Kickback will be a safe space for teenagers to hang out Monday through Friday from 3 - 5 PM. These hours are the time when teens are at greatest risk of being victims or perpetrators of crime (see the adjacent graph).
We have funds, space, and capacity to hire staff, but there is a key element that must be met before we actually launch the KICKBACK: Volunteer Support
We need volunteers who will commit to be there one day a week for two hours from February to May. Ask a friend and pair up to attend together! You can have coffee, serve snacks and then visit with each other. The youth will do their thang!
Pick a day and sign up by the end of the year. If we don't fill the five days we cannot launch the program. Fortunately, we are also working with The Connection and other stake holders to meet this need!
