Four Loves Part 2: Love for the Soil and Love for the Street

As we continue to discern God’s call on our lives at St. Paul’s, your leaders are considering a four part emphasis for our mission.

Let's consider the second two, Love for the Soil and Love for the Street. These are pretty self evident parts of our mission. In loving the soil, we are cherishing earth and her creatures. We are doing this by:
  • Moving to renewable energy by installing solar on our roof
  • Being intentional about purchasing supplies and products that reduce or eliminate waste
  • Transitioning unused lawn space into a lavender garden with the goal of selling the lavender
  • Reducing energy use by adapting more conservative methods

By Love for the Street, we are loving those who come to us from all walks of life in our neighborhood. It includes
  • To-go meals, barbecues, food pantry and little free library
  • Opening our building for shelter from heat and cold
  • Dreaming big about ways we might broaden our support for those who need food or shelter
  • Being good neighbors and offering hospitality to all who live in our neighborhood

These 4 Loves (Love to the South, Love for the Self, Love for the Soil and Street) are ways we remember what God is calling us to do as Jesus's beloved community of St. Paul's.

I pray that you will take time to find your place of ministry and investment within these 4 Loves. Together we can love the world with the strength and power that comes from Jesus Christ. In so doing, we will see miracles of healing and transformation. It will be amazing!
